Harris Verloyn Dark, 85, of Hardy, died Nov. 20, 2006, in Jonesboro. He was a teacher for 35 years in Hardy and Highland.
He served in World War II.
He was a deacon at Spring River Baptist Church in Hardy, a former member of Lions Club and an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Natalie "Maxine" Dark of Hardy; a son, Frederick Dark of Ames, Iowa; a daughter, Susan Chaffin of Mammoth Spring; a brother, Dewey Dark Jr. of Cherokee Village; three sisters, Ida Ackerman of Florida, Ada Tevis of San Jose, Calif., Betty Padgett of Claremore, Okla., three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Ona Dell Dark; a twin brother, Howard Dark; a brother, R.A. Dark; and a sister Anna Laura Vore.
The funeral services were held on Nov. 22 at the Spring River Baptist Church in Hardy with Bro. Floyd Rikard officiating.
Burial followed in Bronaugh Cemetery. The arrangements were under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Hardy.
