Store robbed at gunpoint

THAYER -- Area law enforcement officials are investigating an armed robbery at the Flash Market in Thayer Nov. 20.

The robbery took place at 3:37 a.m. when a gunman entered the store armed with a .22-caliber rifle and took $700 in cash.

The robber is described as 5-feet 4-inches to 5-feet 6-inches tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds. The robber is described as wearing dark clothing and a full face motorcycle helmet. Police said the robbery was carrying a camouflage bag.

Law enforcement officials said the gunman exited the store through the front door and turned right.

Employees at the store refused comment. The store is open 24-hours a day and seven days a week and is located on the Arkansas-Missouri state line.

Agencies involved with the investigation are the Thayer Police Department, the Mammoth Spring Police Department and the Oregon County Sheriff's Department.
