Velma Pauline Taylor of Salem, daughter of the late A.B. (Addie) Saul and Alamo Lynch Saul, was born Nov. 7, 1917, in Salem. She died Jan. 27, 2006, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, at the age of 88.

She was united in marriage to William J. Taylor on Sept. 7, 1940, at Cave City, Ark. She was employed by Town and Country Stores for many years and was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include her step-children, Don Taylor of Illinois, Wanda Butler of Batesville, and Delois Nichols of Newark; a sister, Eilena Hutson of Salem; nephews, Junior Hutson and wife, Sylvia of Pineville and Terry Hutson and wife, Phyllis of Bearden; and two great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Paul Saul; a sister, Evelyn Saul; and her father and mother.

The funeral service was held Jan. 29 at Cox-Blevins Chapel in Salem with Burial following in Salem Cemetery. Arrange-mens were under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
