Bobby N. Hurst died Jan. 24, 2006, in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 65 years.
He was born Dec. 24, 1940, in Fort Sumner, N.M., son of the late Jim and Mattie Walker Hurst.
He was united in marriage July 7, 1962, in Thayer, Mo., to Beverly Linson.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving for three years, with two years of that time being spent overseas. He was an engineer equipment repairman and received the expert carbine rifleman award.
He was a retired electrician, retiring from Yancey Brothers in Austell, Ga., after 16 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly of the home in Thayer; one son, Jeffey N. Hurst, and wife, Dusty Petty, of East Peoria, Ill,; one daughter, Jeannie Hicks and husband, Richard, of Evans, La.; six granddaughters, Kristina, Tressa, Brianna, Lacon, Heather and Angel; two grandsons, Skyler and Asher; one great-granddaugher, Rami; his father-in-law, Bill Linson and wife, Augusta, of Thayer; one brother-in-law, Bill Linson and wife, Beverly, of West Plains; two sisters-in-law, Betty Watts and husband, Jim, of Leesville, La.; and Sally Sarno and husband, Ben, of Garden Grove, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Kyle Simmons; one grandson, Christopher; one brother, Monell Hurst and wife, Arla; one sister, Sandy Ray, and husband, Joe; and his mother-in-law, Tressa Linson.
Burial was in the Walker Cemetery with Bro. Bill Bales officiating. Arrangements were by Carter Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Bill Linson Jr., Leon Mustion, Tim Hurst, Cody Hurst, Marvin Hedden and Kevin Hedden.
