Daniel Hayden Watters of ?Melbourne, Ark., son of the late Elmer and Clementine Watters, was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Jumbo, Ark. He died Feb. 17, 2008, in Batesville, Ark., at the age of 81.
He was united in marriage to Una Imogene Cooper on Nov. 1, 1948, and to this union one daughter was born.
He was a lumberman by trade. He was the owner and operator of Watters Sawmill in Melbourne.
Hayden was of the Baptist faith and a member of Belview Baptist Church.
He is survived by: one daughter and son-in-law, Euna and James Sitton of Melbourne; two grandchildren, Eric and wife Tiffany Sitton and Noah Sitton all of Melbourne; two great-grandchildren, Lexi and Nicholas Sitton both of Melbourne; one sister, Lillie Hodge of Bull Shoals; a host of other relatives; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by: his wife; his parents; two sisters; and three brothers.
Funeral services were held Feb. 19, 2008, at Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne with Ray Carneal and Dave Seaford officiating.
Burial followed at the Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Charlie Lamb, Burton Lamb, Trey Lamb, Fred Lamb, Wayburn Watson and Lee C. Watson.
Honorary pallbearers were: Gale Phipps, James Robbins, Eddie Lester, Kerry Dockins, Larry Dockins, Nolan Atwell, Jimmie Horton and Charlie Browning.
