Royal Cornelius "Neal"?Crase, was born the son of Jewel James Crase and Alta Lena Combs Crase on May 12, 1934, at Couch, Mo., and died Feb. 15, 2008, in Mountain Home, Ark., at the age of 73.
He was united in marriage Aug. 14, 1955, at Couch, Mo., to Nadine Grooms.
He earned the rank of Specialist 4th Class, while serving his country in the United States Army. He was a 1952 graduate of Couch High School, graduating as valedictorian of his class. He went on to further his education and at one time was one of the highest paid classroom teachers of the Special School District Programs for the State of Missouri.
He was a Christian and attended Garfield Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by: three children, Ronald Travis Crase of Couch, Mo., Sarita Suzanne Stewart of Kirkwood, Mo., and Timothy Steven Crase of Couch; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charleen?Janes of Thayer, Mo., and Lucrecia Dubois of Thayer; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Jewel and Alta Crase; and one infant sister, Maxine Crase.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 19 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, with Rev. Jim Thompson officiating.
Burial followed in the New Salem Cemetery located near Couch, with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
