OREGON COUNTY -- The Oregon County Commission met in the commissioners office at the Oregon County Courthouse in Alton to discuss and finalize the county budget for 2006.
The budget was unanimously approved.
County Clerk Gary Hensley announced at the Jan. 27, budget hearing that the county projected $1,847,421 in the general revenue fund, with expected expenditures of $1,491,343. Hensley said he expects a year-end balance of $365,077.
He also projected revenues of $1,228.617 in the county bridge fund, with estimated expenditures of $965,944, leaving a year-end balance of $262,623.
Hensley said the Thayer Special Road District will receive $80,000 from the year's budget.
The county is projecting $785,000 in sales tax revenue and 454,000 in property taxes.
The county clerk said all office budgets at the courthouse are comparable to last year.
He said there would be some additional maintenance and upkeep at the courthouse this budget year, including new windows.
