Hazel Elvira Strauser Pepper, 90, of Pooler, Ga., formerly of Mammoth Spring, Ark., died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at Hospice Savannah.

Born June 4, 1917, in Thayer, Mo., she lived most of her life in Mammoth Spring, Ark. Before coming to Pooler in 2003, she was an active member of the ladies auxiliary of VFW Post 7831 and the Pleasant Valley Home Extension Club in Mammoth Spring.

Survivors include: a daughter, Phyllis L. Diederich, and a son, Donald Pepper and his wife, Fleta, all of Pooler, Ga.; sisters, Arta Standage and Bonnie (Dannie)?Colness, both of Jacksonville, Ark.; grandchildren, Richard E. (Karen) Diederich of Meldrim, Ga., Rhonda (Brian)?Griffin-Bland of Sumter, S.C., and Michelle Carter (Eddie) Stroupe of Atlanta, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Kali Griffin, Kasi Griffin, Samuel Diederich and Grace Diederich; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Nov. 2 at the Riverside Cemetery in Mammoth Spring with arrangements under the direction of Thomas C. Strickland &?Sons Funeral Home.
