Earl Victor Estes, son of the late H. Estes and Gladys Estes Jones of Bald Knob, Ark., was born Nov. 10, 1942. He died Dec. 14, 2005, at Salem, Ark., at the age of 62 years. He was married to Janice Sue Owens on July 10, 1964, in Melbourne, and to this union two children were born. During his working years, he was employed by the Melbourne Shirt Factory and the Cave City Shirt Factory. He was of the Church of Christ faith and attended services at Brockwell.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Janice Estes, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Victor Alan and Annette Estes of Brockwell; one daughter, Sonia Ann Estes of Brockwell; his mother and step-father, Gladys and Kenneth (Buck) Jones; four sisters, Wilma Russell, Frances Cook, Reva Green and Treva Pickens; two stepsisters, Mary Hodges and Pat Leonard; one brother, Billy Gene Estes; one stepbrother Kenneth (Jr.) Jones all of Bald Knob; four grandchildren, Angela, Rusty, Josh and Colin; all of Brockwell and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Willis Dean Estes; one nephew, Jodie Russell; one step niece, Robin Hodges, and two brothers-in-law, Leon Russell and Charles Russell.

The funeral service was held Dec. 16 at Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Carl Cook and Donald Gillihan officiating. Burial was at Jones Cemetery with arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Carroll Owens Jr., Michael Owens, Sheldon Owens, Lance Pickens, Aaron Russell and Avery Russell.

Honorary pallbearers were J.D. Conrad, Ronnie Guthrie, Charlie Harkleroad and Arthur Jones.
