Mabel Angeline Taylor, of Elizabeth, daughter of the late Elijah David (Davie) Davis and Emma Elizabeth Zimmer Davis, was born March 14, 1916, in Elizabeth, Ark. She died Dec. 12, 2005, at Fulton County Nursing Center in Salem at the age of 89 years.
She married Kermit Winston Comstock in 1936 at Black Rock, Ark. and she married William Alvin Taylor on April 2, 1966, at Elizabeth, Ark. She worked as a waitress at a Panther Bay restaurant and at a nursing home in California. She was a member of the Centerpoint Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors included her children, Clyde Comstock and wife, Vica, of Gepp, Willard Comstock and wife, Wilma, of West Plains, Mo., Olene Davis and husband, Ben, of Calico Rock and Joan Crotts and husband, Orville, of Elizabeth; grandchildren; Billy Comstock, Patricia Fisher, Dale Comstock, Jim Comstock, Jean Painter, Belinda Balentine, Loretta Clanton, Charlie Crotts, Billy Taylor and Katie Shrable; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands; grandson, Vernon Crotts; great-grandson, Jacob Painter; two brothers, Calvin and Joe Davis; three sisters, Thelma McCarty, Elma Roberts and Lilly Davis; and her father and mother.
Services were held Dec. 16 at the Centerpoint Freewill Baptist Couch with burial in the Sublett Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
