Elizabeth (Betty) Ocker, 85, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., died Dec. 11, 2007, at Crown Point Nursing and Rehab Center in Horseshoe Bend. She was born Dec. 31, 1921, the daughter of the late George John and Francis Hersch Linker in Chicago, Ill.
She spent her early years in Jefferson City, Mo. Upon re-ceiving a bachelor of arts degree in education from Carthage College, she taught English in Hull, Ill.
She relocated to Polo, Ill., where she met and married Robert A. Lund and with him farmed, taught and raised a family. Upon his death in 1974, she married Armond J. Ocker of Dekaleb, Ill., and lived a short time in Wisconsin before retiring to Horseshoe Bend in 1981.
She was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Horseshoe Bend Boating and Fishing Club since 1983, a member of the PEO the Faith Presbyterian Church in Horseshoe Bend.
She was an ardent bridge player, loved to travel, thrived on her family and enjoyed her friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents and first husband, Robert A. Lund.
Survivors include: her husband, Armond J. Ocker of Horseshoe Bend; two sons, Dr. John L. Lund of Oregon, Ill., and Lt. Col. James R. Lund (wife Susan) of Chatham, Ill.; a step-daughter, Vera Lee Berg (husband Alan) of Silver City, N.M.; a sister, Margaret Josephson of Minnesota; seven grandchildren; two great-grand-children; a niece; nephew; and many friends.
A memorial service was held Dec. 16 at Faith ?Presby-terian Church in Horseshoe Bend, Ark. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Izard County Hospice, P.O. Box 827, Melbourne, AR 72556.
