Agnes Lee Johnson, 88, of Koshkonong, Mo., died Dec. 3, 2005, at Ozarks Medical Center.
She was born July 16, 1917, in Howell County, Mo., to Lee and Mae Heckart Morrison. She graduated from Drury College and on May 27, 1939, was marred at Leota, Mo. to Carl L. Johnson who preceded her in death on May 27, 1976.
Before her retirement Johnson had been a teacher for 42 years having taught at the Thayer Elementary School and other area schools.
She was a member and former secretary of the Retired Teacher's Association both state and local, member of Daughters of American Revolution, served as president of Fun and Friends board of directors and was treasurer of the Council on Aging of Oregon County. She was the author of the "Chatter Box" which was published in the West Plains Daily Quill and was a member of the Thayer Church of Christ since 1944.
Survivors include two children, Don Johnson and wife, Carol, of Koshkonong, Mo., and Elbert Johnson and wife, Marian of Rapid City, S.D.; seven grandchildren, Leslie Coats and husband, Troy, Nancy Moore and husband, Keith, Carla Bassham and husband, Alan, Jeremy Johnson and wife, Brooke, Kendra Johnson, Troy Lee Johnson and wife, Keleen and Julie Flack and husband, Al; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Chapin of West Plains; and two nephews, Roy Chapin and Robert Chapin.
Her parents; husband; brother, Jack Morrison; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law proceeded her in death.
Funeral services were Dec. 7 at Thayer Church of Christ with arrangements under the direction of Robertson-Drago Fun-eral Home of West Plains. Burial was at Oak Lawn Cemetery in West Plains.
Memorial contributions may be made to Paragould Children's Home and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
