Born 12-20-1931 -- Died 11-28-2005

Vernon Graham, son of the late James Fielding Graham and Eva Amanda Mullin Graham, was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Wideman, Ark.

He died Nov. 28, 2005, in Little Rock, Ark., at the age of 73 years.

He was married to Lola Fern Dillard on Aug. 10, 1951, in Melbourne and to this union three children were born.

He served in the United States Army Military Police from 1952 to 1954.

During his working years he was employed at Hayes Brothers Flooring Mill in Calico Rock.

Later he moved to Heber Springs to become a manager of Sentinel Industries. He retired from Sentinel in 1996.

Vernon professed to be a Christian at an early age.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years; Lola Fern Graham of the home; two daughters, and one son-in-law, Vicki Lynn Stokes of Bruno, Ark., and Vona Lea and Eddy King of Mountain Home, Ark.; one son and daughter-in-law, James Earl and Tammy Graham of Mont Belvieu, Texas; one twin sister, Vivian Baird of Westerville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Tonia Stokes, Leah King, Kristie King, Hunter Graham, Colton Graham and a host of other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Otis Graham and James Graham; and one infant sister, Mary Eva Graham.

The funeral service was held Dec. 3 at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Dr. Michael Shy officiating.

Burial was in the Spring Creek Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Calico Rock.

Pallbearers were Sean Blackburn, Chuck Gorham, Steven Livly, John Payton, Lee Pruitt and Bobby Stratton.

Honorary pallbearers were Earl Baird, Paul Cook, Bill Davis, Brian Davis, Richard Deckard, Melvin Farris, J.C. Hawkins, Paul V. Jones, Billy Joe Kankey, Eddy King, Dennis Lively, Gary Lively, Lloyd Lively, Shane Lively, Lowell Mullin, Danny Partee, O.L. Payton, George Poole, Eric Pruitt, J.D. Wallace, Shawn Allen, Willie Bickerstaff, Jerry Baird and David Baird.
