Stanley Selick Town, 82, of Salem, son of the late James and Matilda Wilde Town, was born July 19, 1922 in Muskegon, Mich. He died March 19, 2005, at Salem, Ark.
He married Violet Jane Welch on Aug. 26, 1944, at Philadelphia, Pa., and to this union two children were born.
He spent his working years as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a printer for the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper. Stanley was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Town of Salem; a son, Eric Town and wife, Karen, of New Hope, Pa.; a daughter, Diana Town Weigand and husband, Jim of Philadelphia; four grandchildren -- Sean Town, Jennifer Worrell, Amy Town and Michelle Lacey; and four great-grandchildren -- J.T. Town, Zach Town, Jared Worrell and Madison Worrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
No service is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Ark.
