Randell Allen Stroud, 40, of Hardy died April 3, 2005, at his home.
Born July 17, 1964 in Salem, he was the son of Robert Neal "Bob" Stroud and Mary Lee Paysinger Stroud.
He graduated from Highland High School in 1983. He worked as a chef for the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Fla., and for Universal Studios in Orlando. He was an award-winning chef having won bronze and silver medals in the Culinary Olympics. He was employed as a cosmetologist at Looks Unlimited in Cherokee Village and was a designer on staff at the Grapevine in Ash Flat. He was a member of Spring River Baptist Church in Hardy.
Survivors include his parents; a brother and sister-in-law -- Jeff and Daralee Stroud of Mountain Home; his grandmothers -- Clara Paysinger of Hardy, and Thelma Stroud of Salem; two nieces -- Hannah Rikard and Candace Seward, both of Hardy; a nephew, Cody Seward of Hardy; and his extended family -- Danny and Melinda Seward, and Matt and Donna Rikard, all of Hardy.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Leigh Ann Stroud; his grandfathers -- Doraine Paysinger and Roy Stroud.
The funeral was April 6 at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel in Highland with Floyd Rikard officiating. Burial followed in Salem Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff Stroud, Danny Seward, Cody Seward, Matt Rikard, Matt Boyer and Brien Nix Hall.
Honorary pallbearers were Michael Briggs, Delbert McIntyre, Jim Haney, Michelle Long, Scotia Johns, Darla Nurrill, Olga Cormican, Charlotte Johnson and Lori Carpenter.
