Brown, Rickey unite in marriage

Thursday, January 19, 2006

Nichole Brown, daughter of Stephen and Michelle Bruce of Cherokee Village, and Charley Rickey, son of Charles and Gaye Rickey of O'Kean, Ark., were united in marriage Aug. 20, 2005, on the campus of Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge.

The wedding took place in Midkiff Meadows on the campus of Williams Baptist College in 108 degree weather, record heat for the year. Live plants and beautiful hot pink flowers surrounded a wooden platform that was created by the groom's father. The platform is now part of the couple's deck so they can return daily to the "spot" where they were married.

The bride was attired in a stunning white strapless gown. The bride and mother-in-law made a train and veil to go with the dress and the bride also created the bouquet which was an arrangement of hot pink lilies and white wisteria.

Maid of honor was Kim Bray of Myrtle; and bridesmaids were Stephanie Tucker of Jonesboro and Rebecca Cornett of West Plains, Mo.

Flower girls were Hannah Coats of Walnut Ridge and Emma Simmons of Hoxie, Ark.

The best man was David Hampton of O'Kean, and groomsmen were Steven Booth and Nathan Compton, both of Delaplaine. Ring bearer was Mike Bruce of Cherokee Village, and Grady Privett of Walnut Ridge was the ring bearer.

A reception was held immediately following the ceremony, when guests were escorted to nearby WBC Student Center for the reception.
