James Lyndle Hellums, 57, is alleged to have engaged in the deviant activity, which included fondling and oral sex, during the Christmas holidays. Authorities say that Hellums committed the acts at his house while his wife was at work.
The investigation was conducted by Investigator James Humphrey of the Izard County Sheriff's Department and Janette Cooper of the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division.
According to Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence, sexual conduct with anyone who is less than 14 years of age is a class Y felony, regardless of consent. A class "Y" felony is punishable upon conviction by 10 to 40 years in jail or life.
Hellums posted bond in the amount of $50,000 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
He will answer the charges in Izard County Circuit Court Feb. 1.
Latina Marie Kurtley, 32, of Melbourne was arrested Jan. 10 on a felony charge of filing a false report with a law enforcement agency.
Kurtley, earlier in the year, filed a complaint accusing a man of raping her at the prompting of another individual, according to Lawrence.
An investigation by the Izard County Sheriff's Department could not substantiate her allegations and she later admitted that the reported crime had not happened, according to authorities.
Kurtley posted bond in the amount of $10,000 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
The investigation was conducted by the Izard County Sheriff's Department and the Arkansas State Police.
Douglas Leon Pittman, 35, of Mountain Home was arrested Jan. 11 and charged with fourth degree sexual assault involving two female juveniles in Izard County. Fourth degree sexual assault is a misdemeanor that involves inappropriate touching.
Pittman posted bond of $1,000 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Larry E. Williams, 41, of Violet Hill was arrested Jan. 9 on charges of possession within the intent to deliver a controlled substance, marijuana, a class C felony.
Williams was also charged with the use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, also a class C felony.
Williams posted bond in the amount of $2,000 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Dusti L. Lindsey, 23, of Calico Rock was arrested Jan. 13 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, operating a vehicle without insurance and speeding.
Lindsey was incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Facility.
Steve Alan Sasser Jr., 18, of Mount Pleasant was arrested Jan. 14 and incarcerated on charges of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, driving without a driver's license, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failure to pay registration.
Additional charges of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver are pending. Sasser remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.
