Lorene Beaver of Salem, daughter of the late Earl Smith and Clista Foster Smith, was born June 18, 1926, in Elizabeth, Ark.

She died Jan. 10, 2006, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem at the age of 79 years.

She was united in marriage to Elo Beaver. To this union three children were born. He preceded her in death in 1998.

Lorene and Elo Beaver owned and operated Salem Auto Parts, which was the first auto parts store in town.

For many years she participated in the "Hee Haw" program for the Cancer Society, playing the part of Minnie Pearl. She was famous for her rendition of "She'll be Coming 'Round the Mountain."

She was a member of Salem Assembly of God.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Bill Young of West Plains, Mo., and Debbie and Dennis Julianna of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Chris Etheridge, Joe Young, Darren Young, Heidi Johnson, Boyd Shrable, Dennis Julianna Jr., Torea Julianna, Tracey Sherman, Tina Blair, and Brian Beaver; great-grandchildren, Ciara, Hannah, Gague, Jacqueline, J.M., Jared, Sydney, Thomas, Tyler, Timothy, Hope, Jordan, Dalton, Jaggar, Ariana, Anthony and Delany.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Jerry Lynn Beaver; brothers, Rayvon and Otho Smith; and her father and mother.

The funeral service was held Jan. 12 at Cox-Blevins Chapel in Salem.

Burial followed in the Salem Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
