Thomas Jefferson "T.J. Reed died Jan. 11, 2006, at his home in Thayer, Mo., at the age of 59 years.
He was born Nov. 20, 1946, in Blytheville, Ark., the son of James Daniel and Sallie Gray Reed. He was united in marriage July 5, 1969, to Carol Sue Johnston. He was united in marriage May 15, 1999, in Thayer to Eileen Foster Maddux.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Warmfork Woodland in Thayer.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen, of the home in Thayer; three stepsons, Chris Johnston of Alton, David Masterson of Thayer, and Nathan Arsenault of Thayer; two step-daughters, Jennifer Moore of Springfield, Mo., and Tonya Maddux of Fort Hood, Texas; three granddaughters, Ashley, Stephanie and Emily Reed of Thayer; one sister, Linda Young of West Plains; a daughter-in-law, Lauren Reed of Thayer; three special nephews, George "Titus" Buehler of West Plains, Michael Buehler of West Plains, and Jody Young of Mammoth Spring; a special niece, Jackie Young of West Plains; several great-nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Scott Thomas Reed.
The funeral service was held at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer Jan. 14 with Pastor Wayne Hurst officiating, with burial following in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
Pallbearers were George Buehler, Mike Buehler, Chris Johnston, Ron Davis, Louie Parker and David Masterson.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his memory, be made to the funeral home to help defray burial expenses.
