Frederick William Johns, 76, of Hardy, Ark., died July 28, 2005. He was born Sept. 13, 1928, in Kalkaskia, Mich., the son of Karl Frederick Johns and Jenny Rohner Johns.
He was employed at Sears for many years where he worked as a service man.
He was a World War II Veteran having served with the Merchant Marines.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Johns of Hardy; two sons -- Bill Johns and wife, Scotia of Hardy, and Michael Johns and daughter-in-law, Midge of Hardy; grandchildren -- Bill Johns, Billy "Turk" Johns, Brittany Jennings, Lance Johns and Emily Johns all of Hardy, and Seth Johns of Little Rock; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kimberly Johns and one brother, Heinz Johns.
The funeral was Aug. 1 at Oak Hill Chapel with Keith Gregson officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery at Highland, Ark. Arrangements are incomplete but are under the direction of Heath Oak Hill Chapel of Hardy.
Honorary pallbearers were Robbie Smith, Hershel Conley and T.J. "Sonny" Powell.
