Alex Gillespie Billingsley 40, of Koshkonong, Mo., was born July 13, 1965, in Jacksonville, Ark., the son of Earnest Leroy Billingsley and Joan Douglas Billingsley. He died July 24, 2005, in Springfield, Mo.
He was united in marriage Sept. 1, 2000 in Baldwin County, Ala. to Donna Allen.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and recently received his discharge from the Army Reserve Military Unit 1138 in West Plains, Mo. He served as an Honor Guard for many miliary funerals.
He was employed by Saraland Police Department in Alabama for several years. He was a truckdriver, employed by Heartland Express and was of the Protestant faith. He was baptized at the age of 13 into the Evening Light Message Church. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his wife, Donna of Koshkonong; one son, Brandon Baker of Koshkonong; his mother, Joan of Kosh-konong; three sisters -- Lena Walsh and husband, Marty of Mountain Grove, Mo., Joanie Tullos and husband, Jerry and Neasha Smith and husband, Buck of Koshkonong; special aunt and uncle -- Cliff and Mary Montgomery of West Plains; seven nieces and nephews -- Shikara Walsh, Desiree Smith, Colton Tullos, Emerald Tullos, Shiphra Walsh, Jade Smith and Timothy Earnest Walsh and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Billingsley.
The funeral service was July 28 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo., with Rev. Paul Brewer officiating. Burial was in the Billingsley Family Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Homeof Thayer.
