Repertory Theatre of the Ozarks (RTO) presents Bobby Bair and his Last Ride Band Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at WhistleStop Theater in Mammoth Spring.
Singer/songwriter Bobby Bair has been performing since age 9, when he started singing in Koshkonong and with the Ozark Mountain Music Makers in Salem. Bair went on to tour the western United States playing at music halls, rodeos and at Bob Wills' London Hall.
Bair has spent more than 10 years on the road playing at the famed Billy Bob's in Fort Worth, Texas, and the Grizzly Rose in Denver, Colo. He has opened for Ty England and Aaron Tippen, and he backed up Jan Howard.
Bair performed in a tribute to Bob Wills at London Hall. The tribute was recorded. Bair was recently given the 2005 Hoedown Award by the George D. Hay Foundation.
His favorite brand of music is country, mostly George Strait and Alan Jackson songs.
"Bair and his Last Ride Band produce a tight upbeat sound that's hard to beat," said a spokesman.
Band members are Bair, vocals and guitar; Rick VanDolah, drums, vocals; Andy Bair, guitar, vocals, keyboard; and Doug Martin, bass and vocals.
Tickets are $6 at the door.
