Wiseman man sought in burglaries

Thursday, October 20, 2005

Authorities in Izard and Sharp counties are searching for a Wiseman man who has been charged with multiple felonies in connection with several area burglaries.

Jesse James Cap, 21, has been charged with breaking and entering, a class D felony; residential burglary, a class B felony; and two counts of theft of property, both class A misdemeanors.

Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence said Cap stole a 12-volt DeWalt drill, a Dewalt radio, 12 DVDs, a Ryobi charger, a circular saw, a bottle of Obsession cologne and other items from a Horseshoe Bend residence Sept. 3.

According to the arrest affidavit, Cap admitted to stealing the items and also admitted to taking $70 worth of gas from another Horseshoe Bend home, during an interview with the Horseshoe Bend Police.

Law officers found rolls of coins and knives that had been stolen from a Franklin residence inside Cap's van prior to his interview at the Horseshoe Bend Police Station, the affidavit stated.

Lawrence said Cap is a suspect in burglaries in Baxter County, Craighead County and Sharp County.

He said Cap has been charged with multiple property crime offenses in the past.

The Izard County Sheriff's Department did not release a physical description of Cap.

Anyone with information about Cap's whereabouts is encouraged to call the Izard County Sheriff's Department at 870-368-4203. All calls can remain anonymous.
