Dorothy Lois Smith, 84, of Mammoth Spring, Ark., was born April 30, 1921, the daughter of the late Henry Parnell and Elsie Loeffler-Parnell.
She died Oct. 9, 2005, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville.
She was united in marriage to Clifford Collins in 1940 and Carl Smith in 1964. Both preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Catherine Butler and husband, Charles of Camp, Ark.; two sons, Jerry Collins and wife, Carolyn, of McKinney, Texas, and Gerald Collins and wife, Daphene, of Mobile, Ala.; two step-children, Patsy Powell and husband, Arliss of Mammoth Spring, Wayne Smith and wife, Anita, of Koshkonong, Mo., one sister, Rose Denton of Mammoth Spring; one brother, Paul Parnell and wife, Jo, of Diamond, Mo.; four sisters-in-law, Callie Parnell, Robbie Parnell, Mary Parnell and Barbara Kane; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elsie Parnell; one sister, Augusta Honeycutt; and six brothers, Wesley, Leonard, Rudolph, Raymond and Harlin Parnell;
The funeral service was held Oct. 11 at Thayer Church of Christ with Erman Croney officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Mammoth Spring.
