Orders for Angel Food packages can be placed Jan. 1 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Viola Assembly of God. Orders will be available for pickup Jan. 21 from 12 to 2 p.m. Boxes are not provided.
The food packages, provided through Angel Food Ministries, are for sale for $25 and provides meals for a family of four for approximately a week. The packages are estimated to cost between $50 to $75. There are no income guidelines and no limit to the number of packages that can be purchased. Payment is required up front and U.S. Food Stamps are accepted.
The food packages are available each month and consist of both fresh and frozen items.
The food is all the same high quality one would purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.
Angel Food Ministry is a nonprofit, nondenominational organization founded in 1994 to help all Americans with their grocery budgets.
