Aubrey Alexander Billingsley, son of the late Archibald A. Billingsley and Novella Garner Billingsley, was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Franklin, Ark. He died Nov. 29, 2005, in Melbourne at the age of 80.

He was married to Joyce Kathleen Herron on Dec. 22, 1947, near Myron, and to this union three children were born.

He served in the United States Army during World War II as a Pershing Tank driver. For most of his working years he was a farmer. Later in life, he did landscaping in the Horseshoe Bend area.

He was a former member of the Violet Hill School Board. He was a member of and past deacon of the Horseshoe Bend Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Joyce Kathleen Billingsley of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Jerry Kelley of Paragould, Ark., and Kendra and Larry Smith of Franklin; one son, and daughter-in-law, Kirby and Oleta Billingley of Franklin; eight grandchildren, Jason Kelley, Charity Brennan, Alex Billingsley, Hannah Billingsley, Casondra Smith, Charlene Smith, Lucas Smith and Katrina Smith; two great-grandchildren, Rochelle and Aiden Kelley; and a host of other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Ray Billingsley, Lee Billingsley, Clarence Billingsley, John Billingsley and Bennie Billingsley; five sisters, Nola Mae Richards, Ruth Herron, Ruby Roman, Nina Belle, Williams; his twin sister, Audrey Billingsley and an infant twin brother and sister.

The funeral service was held Dec. 1 at Franklin Baptist Church with Robert Norton officiating. Burial followed in Roberts Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne.

Pallbearers were Larry Smith, Don Self, Jason Kelley, Lester Gross, Dean Billingsley and Jerry Kelley.

Honorary pallbearers were Austin Jones, Lindell Wiseman, John Shelton and Shawn Brennan.
