Mrs. Blanche Hortence Worel, of Willow Springs, Mo., died at her home Nov. 26, 2005. She was born in Koshkonong, Mo., on Jan. 23, 1916, the daughter of the late Clarence D. and Hattie Ann Smith McCormack.
She was married on Dec. 16, 1935, in Thayer, Mo. to Herbert R. Worel, who preceded her in death.
She attended schools in Koshkonong. She had the "God given" gift of creativity. Her leisure time was spent sewing, quilting and gardening. She was active in the garden and quilting clubs.
She was beloved by many friends and family members.
Survivors include three children, Marian Thompson of Mountain View, Mo., Janice Browning and her husband, David, of Ponca, City, Okla., and John Worel and his wife, Earlaine of Aurora, Colo. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Chris Browning, Margaret Browning-Holmgren and Shana Worel; great-grandchildren, Shannon Browning and Tara and Erik Holmgren; her brother, Roderick McCormack and his wife, Mildred, of Koshkonong, and a a sister, Janett Long and her husband, Marshall of Willow Springs, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Worel of Springfield, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marian and her brother, Ross.
The funeral service was held Nov. 30 at the First Christian Church in Willow Springs. Burial followed in the Koshkonong City Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Willow Funeral Home.
