William Fleming Moore Sr., 89, of Cherokee Village died Nov. 15, 2005, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy.

Bill was born on July 28, 1916, in Bethesda, Md., the son of Aldrich and Kate Goulding Moore. He worked for the Dayco Corporation in Atlanta, Ga., as district manager of the southeastern area. Then he became sales manager for the Railroad Divison in Chicago, . He retired after 28 years at Dayco. He was a member of a number of Railway Societies and was a member of the Union Lague Club in Chicago for mny years. After retiring from Dayco the Moores moved to Cherokee Village in 1981. Bill was very active in Cherokee Village and had a great love for his family and friends. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and was a past director and past president of the Cherokee Village Water Asso-ciation. He was a member of the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Clifford Sowell of Berea, Ky.; grandsons, Amann Moore Sowell, Andew Robert Sowell and Patrick William Sowell all of Berea; granddaughters, Jennifer Moore Curran (Michael) of West Simsbury, Conn., and Bethany Quinn Moore of Louisville, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Michael, Declan and Quinn Curran all of West Simsbury, Conn.; two nephews, Michael and Pat Sancomb of Savannah Ga., and former daughter-in-law, Rebecca Richard- son and her husband, Alan of Monticello, Ky.; and many other family members and friends about whom he cared deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Waldon Scott Moore; and sons, Robert Quinn and William Fleming Moore Jr.

A memorial service was held Nov. 18 at Cherokee Village United Methdoist Church with Rev. Norm Fedderly officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church.
