Born 9-4-1932 -- Died 11-12-2005
Mary Rowena King, of Salem, daughter of the late J.R. and Viola Johnson Gibson, was born Sept. 4, 1932, in Walnut Ridge, and died Nov. 12, 2005, at Salem at the age of 73 years.
She was married to Emery Lee King Nov. 9, 1983, at El Dorado. She spent her working years as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a housekeeper at Fulton County Nursing Center and a member of Salem First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Emery King of Salem; a son, Danny Caruthers of Flippin; stepdaughters, Brennie Jackson of Salem and Lori Marley of Fairbanks, Alaska; brothers, William Gibson of Flint, Mich., and Junior Gibson also of Flint, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Memorial services were held Nov. 15 at Salem First Baptist Church with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
