OREGON COUNTY -- A 17-year-old West Plains teenager was killed in a one-car crash at 1:10 a.m., April 5 near Thomasville.

Officers with Troop G of the Missouri Highway Patrol said Gage Gransee was ejected from the 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

A passenger in the vehicle, Ryan Mendenhall, 18, of Alton also was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He suffered serious injuries and was flown to St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

A Troop G report said the crash happened as the Tahoe skidded and over-turned while rounding a curve on Missouri Highway 99, four miles north of Thomasville.
