Lloyd Wayne Blevins, 82, of Oxford, Ark., son of the late John Arthur and Thelma Faye (Cochran) Blevins, was born Sept. 30, 1925, at Union, Ark. He died April 2, 2008, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark.
He was united in marriage to Ruby Cantrell on April 12, 1960, at Huntsville, Ark. He later was united in marriage to Velda Grills Rowden on Jan. 31, 1986, at Oxford.
Lloyd worked as an automobile and real estate salesman and ran Clear View Fox Pen for 19 years.
He was a member of the Oxford Baptist Church, member of the American Legion and VFW Post 4687, past president of Arkansas Fox Hunters Association and won state championships on different occasions. He served his country in the U.S. Marines during World War II.
He is survived by: his wife, Velda Blevins of Oxford; daughter, Barbara Taylor (Gary) of Searcy, Ark.; sep-daughter, Sarah Sherrell (Alan) of Oxford; granddaughter, Julie Stearns (Dennis) of Searcy, Ark.; four step-grandchildren, Robby and Rusty Rogers of Arkadelphia, Ark., Mandy Lawrence (Jason) of Melbourne, Ark., and Missy McBride (Billy) of Oxford; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a step-daughter, Jennifer Rogers.
Funeral services were held April 5 at the Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford. Interment was in the Union Cemetery at Union, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem.
Pallbearers were Jason Lawrence, Billy McBride, Jack Yancey, Bill Martin, Connie Everett and Mike Warden.
Honorary pallbearers were all men and women that hunted in the Clear View Fox Pen and White River Area Agency on Aging.
Memorials preferred to the Union Cemetery Association.
