David Albert Green was born May 4, 1947, in Mammoth Spring, Ark., the son of Albert C. Green?Jr. and Davene Hayes Green. He died Feb. 3, 2008, at his home in Foley, Ala., at the age of 60.
He was united in marriage May 17, 1969, at Thayer, Mo., to Joyce Jewell.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the mounted calvary, helping guard the Berlin Wall and also served as guard for Rudolph Hess.
He was a car detailer working for Blackburn Chevrolet for 30 years.
He is survived by: his wife, Joyce Green of the home in Foley, Ala.; one son, Kenneth Green and wife, Caprice of Grand Island, Neb.; one daughter, Heather Wallace and husband Blake of Foley, Ala.; five grandchildren, Hope, Alexis, Joshua, Harbor and Cove; his mother, Davene Green of Thayer, Mo.; one brother, Richard Green and wife, LaWanda of Willow Springs, Mo.; one sister, Ola Lynn Wheeler of Phoenix, Ariz.; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: by his father, Albert C. Green Jr.; one niece, LaJena Adams; and three infant nephews.
Funeral services were held Feb. 7 in the Shiloh Grand Gulf Church near Thayer, Mo. Burial followed in the Shiloh Grand Gulf Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
