Rotary to hold annual auction

Thursday, April 3, 2008

THAYER -- Every year the Thayer-Mammoth Spring Rotary Club holds a radio auction to raise funds for local projects in the community. This year's Rotary Club Auction will be April 14-18.

The auction will start each evening at 5:30 p.m. and continue until 7 p.m. on K-Kountry 95 and KALM-AM 1290 radio. Audio of the auction can also be heard on www.kkountry.com.

According to Rotary Club officials, 100 percent of the money raised during the auction stays in the local community.

Examples of what the auction funds have supported over the last few years include: nursing scholarships, Thayer Little League, Mammoth Spring Fire Department, Thayer Swim Team, Thayer Head Start, Mammoth Spring Prom Lock-In, Thayer Prom Lock-In, foreign exchange students, Easter egg hunt, Student Government Day, July 4th fireworks, Alton Baseball Field project, Shop With A Cop, FBLA and the Oregon County Food Pantry, just to name a few.

Rotary officials said contributions valued at $100 or more will be on the big board with the business and item announced each night. Items on the big board are sold on the final night.
