Three Izard County residents were arrested for drug related charges after a probation officer realized they were under the influence Jan. 10.
Brent Allen Dale, 38, of Violet Hill, Jimmy McLaughlin, 41, of Melbourne, and Deanna Jolene Chase, 36, of Mt. View were all arrested at Dale's residence, according to Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence.
Lawrence said Izard County deputies accompanied a probation and parole officer to Dale's residence. There they found the three individuals in possession of methamphetamine, syringes, prescription pills and a firearm, he said.
Lawrence said the deputies asked the three individuals to submit to a drug test; Dale and Chase agreed and tested positive for multiple illegal drugs.
Authorities arrested Dale and charged him with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and felon in possession of a firearm.
McLaughlin was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, use or possession of drug paraphernalia and introducing prohibited articles into a correctional facility.
Lawrence said because Chase refused to be tested, she was considered positive for illegal drugs. She was arrested and charged with introducing prohibited articles into a correctional facility.
Bond for Dale and McLaughlin was set at $50,000. Chase's bond was set at $25,000. Both Dale and Chase were placed on a probation hold, according to Lawrence.
As of press time, all three individuals remained in the Izard County Detention Facility.
