OREGON COUNTY -- An Alton woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident Jan. 8 east of Alton.
According to a report from Troop G of the Missouri Highway Patrol, Sherry Williams, 50, was thrown from the 1993 Geo Tracker she was driving after it ran off the road, struck an embankment and overturned.
The accident was investigated by Trooper A.L. Jones. It occurred at 11:50 a.m. on U.S. 160, seven miles east of Alton.
Two Thayer residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident Jan. 4 on U.S. Highway 63 and M Highway.
Trooper J.C. Howell reported a 1993 Oldsmobile driven by Steven Crystal, 48, of Thayer rear-ended a 1991 Kenworth tractor trailer truck driven by Claude Hawkins, 80, from Hartshorn, Mo.
A passenger in the Crystal vehicle, June Crystal, 44, also of Thayer, received injuries in the accident.
The Crystals were treated at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains and released.
Steven Crystal was charged with careless and imprudent driving and failure to wear a safety belt.
