Lee Roland White was born July 22, 1917, in Lutts, Tenn., the son of the late Lee Roy White and Laura Etta Moore. He died Jan. 3, 2008, at his home near Mammoth Spring, Ark.
He was united in marriage Dec. 29, 1947, in Alcorn, Miss., to Mary Irene Curtis.
He was a decorated veteran serving his country in the United States Army during World War II.
He was a member of the Vincent-Langston-Lunn VFW?post 7831 in Mammoth Spring and the American Legion.
Besides being a farmer, he worked in the Hardwood Flooring industry.
He is survived by: his wife, Mary of the home near Mammoth Spring; one daughter, Kathy Crawford of Mammoth Spring; six grandchildren, Keith Crawford, LaTeresa Crawford, Krystal Crawford, Link Bowden, Kay Johnson and Sarah Bowden; two step-grandchildren, Wanda Sullivan and Ronnie Jones; two great-grandchildren, Krysta and Matthew; two brothers, Roy White of St. Louis and James White of Illinois; three sisers, Lillian Reynolds of St. Louis, Mo.; Estelle Cox of Kansas and ?Nell Welsh of Pilot Knob, Mo.; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; two daughters, Shirley Ann White and Nancy Lee Bowden; one step-daughter, Earline Rutland; one grandson, Kenneth Melton; one brother, Bob White; and one infant sister.
Funeral services were held Jan. 6 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Bro. Floyd Rikard officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Mammoth Spring, with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
