Arvil Lee Bunting and Bonnie June Lee Bunting will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 23. The couple will celebrate by renewing their wedding vows Feb. 24 at the Myron Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clower officiating. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Family and friends are invited. No gifts please.
Lee and Bonnie Bunting were married Feb. 23, 1957, in Marked Tree, Ark., Poinsett County. Lee was a Specialist Four in the Army and a member of the 60th Infantry Regiment stationed in Fort Carson, Colo. Later the family was transferred to Fort Eustis, Va., Augsburg, Germany, Camp Kennedy, Fla., and Heilbronn, Germany. Lee served two tours in Vietnam and retired a First Sergeant with Headquarters/Headquarters Battery 1 / 7th Field Artillery 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One), Fort Riley, Kan.
Bonnie, a devoted wife, mother and homemaker coordinated each move ensuring all household items were packed and orders for housing were in place for the family's new duty station, whether state side or overseas. Bonnie is a graduate of Marked Tree High School.
Lee and Bonnie Bunting have one son, Bryan Keith, who also retired from the Army. He and his wife, Vicky, have one daughter, Ashley, and two sons, David and Steven, and live in St. Louis, Mo.
Lee and Bonnie now reside in Horseshoe Bend.
