A fire claimed two lives at a residence in Horseshoe Bend in the early morning hours May 18.
When members of the Horseshoe Bend Volunteer Fire Department arrived at 1413 Orchard Lane, the structure was fully engulfed in flames, according to a statement released by Horseshoe Bend Fire Chief Mike Hilliker.
At 12:48 a.m. firefighters were paged by Izard County Dispatch after they were contacted by a woman who said there was a house burning near her residence.
Twelve firefighters immediately responded and worked until 11 a.m. before the fire was completely subdued.
Though the names of the deceased have not been officially released, the water hook-up at the residence is registered under the name Joshua Jameson, according to Horseshoe Bend Police Chief Fred Mitchell.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
