Lloyd Ray Mortimer was born April 7, 1928, in Tacoma, Wash. He died Oct. 7, 2006, at his home in Broken Arrow, Okla. He was 78.
Lloyd spent a lot of his time as a young boy in the Mammoth Spring area and loved the people and country in and around Mammoth Spring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and first wife, Edith Joanne.
He is survived by: his wife of 28 years, Cynthia, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Jean Mortimer of Tulsa, Okla., one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Rudy Gomez of Richardson, Texas; two stepsons, Gene Dees of New Port Richey, Fla.; and Jeff and Heidi Dees of Tulsa; four grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Taylor and Garret Mortimer and Hillary and Tyler Dees.
He retired from Skelly-Getty Oil, served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Reserves, was a graduate of the University of Tulsa, and a lifetime member of the Scottish Rite.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 27 at noon at the Hurst Cemetery at Mammoth Spring.
