Two Viola properties, owned by the same family, were robbed sometime during the weekend of Feb. 24-26.
Rita Foster said she walked into her salon, Country Cuts, located along state Highway 263 North in Viola and realized her business' tax papers were scattered on the floor.
Foster said she first wondered if her husband, Rick, had been looking through the documents, but then she looked around and realized things were missing.
The thief or thieves stole her television, clippers, clipper lube, razors, all of her hair spray and shampoo, a suitcase, a number of Home Interior candles Foster had displayed for sale and a tent and blow up mattress that were in storage in her salon, Foster said.
"They took really weird things," Foster said. "I think they were looking for a quick buck and just started grabbing. The thing I'm most upset about is my brother's clippers -- they've got sentimental value."
During that same weekend, Foster's husband, Rick, discovered that multiple items had been stolen from a barn on their property.
Stolen were a number of tools, a 100 gallon fuel tank valued at over $1,000 and a chop saw, Foster said.
"(Fulton County Sheriff) Walter (Dillinger) doesn't think the two are connected. It's a really odd coincidence, though," she said.
Foster said she is offering a reward for the recovery of the Oster 76 clippers with the name Kevin engraved along the side that were stolen. "They only cost about $200, but they're really important because of my brother," she said.
Anyone with information regarding either of the thefts can contact the Fulton County Sheriff's Department at 895-2601 or Country Cuts at 458-2064.
