"Chet" O. Collins, 91, died July 9, 2007, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains. He was born Aug. 11, 1915, in Ash Flat, Ark., the son of the late Joseph Aaron and Vergie Mae Horton Collins.
On June 15, 1940, he was married at Gainesville, Mo., to Helen Adell Colvin. Before his retirement, Mr. Collins was employed for 45 years with Coca Cola. He loved to read and was a collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia. He was a member of the Curry Street Church of Christ for 57 years.
He is survived by: his wife, Helen Collins of the home; his son Joe Tom Collins, wife, Dolores of West Plains; two grandchildren, Renaee Wil-liams, husband, Steve of West Plains and Rodney Collins of Springfield, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Jennifer Coursey, husband, Justin, Brandi Bell, husband, Micco, Brennen Wood and Tasha Williams all of West Plains; four great-great-grandchildren, Dagen, Trista, Lathen and Kylee; one sister, Bernice Trout of Hastings, Neb.; several nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Lehman and Carson Collins; and two sisters, Madrene Bohm and Lorene Harris.
Funeral services were held July 12, 2007, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains. Burial followed at the Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fair Haven Children's Home and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
