Marvis W. Conyers, 75, of Cave City died July 14, 2007, at the Ash Flat Nursing and Rehab Center in Ash Flat. He was born July 13, 1931, at Melbourne, the son of Eunice Edgar "Shorty" and Virgie Mae King Conyers.
Marvis was raised in the Melbourne area. He worked at the family saw mill at Melbourne and for the Cox Pipeline Company. He retired from the U.S. Force in the (POL) refueling section.
He was a Vietnam veteran from 1963 to 1964. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City.
Survivors include: his wife, Loretta Conyers of the home; one son, Johnny Conyers and his wife Lois of Greenbrier; one daughter, Virginia Conyers of Memphis; one sister, Brenda Gillogly and her husband Dean of Olathe, Kan.; one grandson, Jeremy Conyers and his wife Charlee of Cave City; two granddaughers, Sharonda Gard-ner and her husband Steven of Newark and Katherine Conyers of Memphis; one great-granddaughter, Madyson Marie Gard-ner of Newark; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held July 17 at the Country Church of God west of Cave City with Rev. Allen Brown officiating. Burial followed in the Eutopia Cemetery west of Cave City with military honors and Masonic Rites. Arrangements were by the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
