Velma Rhea Webb, 81, of Oxford, daughter of the late Gordie Isaac Taylor and Beulah Green Taylor, was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Oxford (New Hope), Ark. She died Jan. 1, 2008, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
She was united in marriage to Keith Harris Webb on Dec. 1, 1945. To this union two daughters were born.
She was employed by Tri-County Shirt Company in Salem and later by Baxter Lab. She was a member of the Oxford Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her daughters, Katherine Smithson and husband David of Brockwell and Diane Johnston, and husband Roger of Live Oak; grandchildren, Brent Smithson of Greenbriar, Taffy Moser of Brockwell and Ronavin Johnston of Live Oak, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Smithson, Jordan Smithson, Bailey Smithson, Harmony Herron and Crystal Maynard and Amber Moser; sisters, Ina Powell, Faye Sanderson and Peggy Ball, all of Kansas City, Mo.; brothers, Vester (Skeeter)?Taylor and Hayden Taylor, both of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by: her husband in 1982; two brothers, Ravle and Remmell Taylor; one sister, Wilma Gaye Hayes; and her father and mother.
Funeral services were held Jan. 4 at the Oxford Baptist Church with burial following in the Union Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
