UACCB to hold fall registration

Thursday, July 27, 2006

Fall registration at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville will be set up a little different than it has been in the past, said college officials.

To better serve its students, UACCB will have one day set aside for returning students and a second day set aside for new students. The new setup is designed to allow returning students to register for classes or make changes more easily and streamline registration for new students with testing provided in the morning and registration that afternoon.

Registration for returning students (students who have attended UACCB before) and for students who need to make changes to their schedules will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 16. Testing will also be available.

Registration for new students will be held in the afternoon of Aug. 17. Student processing will begin at 8 a.m. and testing will begin at 10 a.m. Registration will be held from 1 to 6 p.m.

Students entering college for the first time must submit the following information:

* A completed Application for Admission.

* An official transcript (must be delivered in a sealed envelope from the high school) of high school grades, credits and date of graduation; or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) transcript.

* Proof of immunization against measles and rubella if born after Jan. 1, 1957. Two measles shots, one rubella and one mumps are required with the first immunization dated one year after date of birth.

* ACT, ASSET, COMPASS or SAT scores that are less than five years old.

Home school students must submit an accredited home school transcript, or GED transcript, along with other documents listed above.

Students who have attended college before must also submit an official transcript from each school attended as well as the other documents listed above. Official transcripts must be delivered in a sealed envelope.
