Arkansas Bead Cave 7, a three-day bead retreat sponsored by the Home Chapter of the Arkansas Bead Society, will be held Sept. 29 through Oct. 1 at the upper level of Michelle's at Turkey Mountain overlooking the Turkey Mountain Golf Course in Horseshoe Bend.
Demonstrations and show and tell are held Friday evening after dinner. Classes are held on Saturday and on Sunday morning. In each time slot there are at least two choices of classes, so the teacher/student ratio will be small enough to allow for individual instruction. Class topics include chain maille, peyote bead weaving, basic herringbone stitch and beading around a bezel. Beginning beaders are welcome and will have a class in making a netted Christmas ornament if they choose to.
Elie Roy, owner of Argenta Beads of North Little Rock, will be the vendor. Beads, kits and supplies will be available for purchase at the bead cave. Meals will be served at Michelle's at Turkey Mountain. Fees include registration, five meals and classes. For complete information or to register call Joan Boman at 870-670-5332. For housing information call Linda Landrum at 870-670-5459.
