Voters head to the polls Tuesday

OREGON COUNTY --

The Spring Municipal and School Board Election will be held in Oregon County April 4.

Oregon County Clerk Gary Hensley said polls will open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. He reminds voters to bring their voter registration cards to the polls when they go to vote. He said election judges will be asking for voter identification.

County, municipal and school board positions that will appear on the ballot follow.

County boards

Ambulance: -- No one has filed for either of the two positions open on the county ambulance board. Hensley said two candidates will be chosen as write in candidates.

Write-in candidates must live in the district they will represent. The two open positions are for District I and District 4.

Cities

Alton

Mayor: Richard Haigwood

North Ward alderman: Tom Young

South Ward alderman: Bill Young

Thayer

North Ward alderman: Fern Hickinbotham, Mike Harber

South Ward alderman: Robert Steve Alford, Johnny Jewell, Mildred Cornelius

Koshkonong

Mayor: Loyd (Bud) Adams

Ward I alderman: Geneva Bernard

Ward II alderman: James (JD) Stevens

Jenny Davis has filed as a write-in candidate for Ward I alderman. Her name will not appear on the ballot but in order to be counted as a candidate she had to file.

School Boards

Couch: Steve Honeycutt, Dean Roberts, Jeff Lawrence. Two three-year positions open.

Koskonong: Kevin Kazen, Marcus Reynolds, Tammy Hampton, Michael Adams, Greg England. Two three-year positions open.
