Ronald David Boyer Sr., 73, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., was born April 17, 1934, in Hunter, Mo., the son of the late Cyrus and Mary (Bingham) Boyer. He died June 13, 2007, in Horseshoe Bend.
He was married to Erma Lou (Freese) Boyer on Sept. 8, 1954.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958. After serving in the Navy, he relocated to Connecticut where he worked as an electrical draftsman for Electric Boat.
During that time he went into the ministry and was ordained by the Assemblies of God on?March 25, 1969. During his ministry he pastored churches in Connecticut, Missouri and Arkansas. On May 27, 2007, he resigned as pastor of Spring Mill Assembly of God in Batesville, Ark., due to illness.
Survivors include: his wife of 52 years Erma Lou Boyer; two sons, Ronald D. Boyer Jr. and Steve and (Jill) of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; two daughters, Rhonda Gresaffe and (Jim) of Boliver, Mo., and Bethany Lynn Romeo of Columbus, Ga.; three brothers; four sisters; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held June 16 at 10 a.m. at the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel with burial following in the Evening Shadows Memorial Park Cemetery in Horseshoe Bend.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
