The perpetrators involved in the May 30 destruction of 9-1-1 road signs and mailboxes located along Young Road have been caught.
Derek Batterton, a recent graduate of Salem High School, and Kevin Fowler, a senior at Salem, were arrested in connection with the vandalism June 7.
The two 18-year-olds are facing misdemeanor criminal mischief charges, according to Fulton County Sheriff Walter Dillinger.
"These boys have never been in trouble before," Dillinger said. "They were talking about helping (to make repairs and pay for damages). They're good boys, really."
Dillinger said once the boys go before a judge, they will likely be required to pay fines and participate in a set number of community service hours.
