Cornelia Catherine Eliza-beth Shoemaker, 88, of Melbourne, Ark., died June 5, 2007, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville.
She was born Sept. 6, 1918, the daughter of Elbert Elmon and Mary Catherine Simmons Yancey at Oxford.
She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: her husband James "Bud"?Shoemaker of the home; three sons, Kenneth Roddy of Brockwell, Gail Roddy of Yakima, Wash., and Winston Roddy of Brockwell; four daughters, Shirley Stevens of Wichita, Kan., Malvalea Kendrick of North Little Rock, Donna Smith of Joplin, Mo., and Kathy Phipps of Hickory Ridge, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Elbert Elmon and Mary Catherine Simmons Yancey; her first husband,?Marvin Roddy; two brothers, Ezra Yancey and Marvin Yancey; two sisters, Ozzie Owens and Eva Estes; and one granddaughter, Susan Haynes.
The funeral services were held on June 9 at the ?Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Melbourne with Bro. S.D. Hacker officiating.
Interment followed at the Melbourne Cemetery.
The arrangements were made under the direction of Howard Funeral Home of Melbourne, Ark.
Pallbearers included Billy Wayne Yancey, Darrell Owens, Dean Phipps, Don Barger, Logan Phipps and Scott Phipps.
