Salem's fifth annual Independence Day celebration will be Wednesday, July 4 at the Salem City Park located along Highway 62/412 west.
Festivities will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature free food, entertainment and one of the area's biggest fireworks displays.
The Mountain Home High School Band will present the colors in ceremonies prior to the fireworks. The Fulton County Extension Homemakers will register veterans attending the event.
Food will be provided by the Bank of Salem, White Oak Station, Dairy Queen, First National Banking Company and Town and Country Supermarket.
All fireworks are supported by the Salem Chamber of Commerce, local business sponsors and community donations. Donations will be accepted after the show or can be mailed to: Salem Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 649, Salem, AR 72576.

THAYER -- The Thayer Area Chamber of Commerce will host Independence Day activities July 4th at the Thayer Football Field starting at 5 p.m.
Carnival rides and games will be available for children and the chamber will have a food tent where concessions can be purchased.
Live music will be provided by the Last Ride Band on the Allen American Band Stand.
Free cold watermelon, compliments of Wallace and Owens Country Mart will be available during the evening.
The K-95 summer grill complete with a freezer full of meat will be given away at 7 p.m.
An Elvis impersonator is scheduled to entertain at 8:45 p.m.
The largest fireworks display in the area is scheduled for 9 p.m. The display is made possible every year from donations from local businesses.
Booth set up is available for $15. To rent a booth call Mike Crase at 264-7211.
Admission and parking is free.
